Coffee is for closers

Yeahhhh....this post didn't quite make it into publication a few weeks ago.  But, what the hell, it's not like it was current in the first place.  Anachronism comes pretty naturally for me - I'm that out of touch.  So, anyway, here's a little post-race reporting from a few weeks ago.

There was more racing last weekend to be had than any person could have, and certainly much more than this laughably slow media outlet could begin to cover.  If you're getting your news here, even your race news, you're out of touch.  And thank you.

So, with no real attempt to cover what happened, I'll tell you what didn't happen.  The top step of the podium.  No indeed, as far as i've been told, CRCPBBRC (now accepting your suggestions for a shorter acronym) was on the #2 step a few times, but never on top.

Case in point:  Cunningham, 2nd in SS at BRS.

Time in the air is technically coasting.  You gotta pedal to win.  And perhaps not run a jackhammer all week.
Wadsworth too.  2nd out of, I don't know, 100 or so at 6WC.

always a bridesmaid.  never a, well, I'm not sure.
You'll notice that Wadsworth isn't wearing the Maillot Pistachio there under his silver medal and mediocrity, and good riddance for that. Coffee is for closers, big guy. Don't be teaching that jersey any bad habits while she's in your care.
Baddass local, Mark Smith, also 2nd at BRS in Expert/Pro, although getting smoked by less than 25 minutes by Conner Bell is starting to seem a bit like a win nonetheless.  It's rumored he followed this up the next day at Pocahontas with another silver, but I can't confirm that.  Nor is that my role.  I'm here to spread rumors and talk shit, not give the news.
Spring, it would seem, has stayed as long as it could muster: approximatley 3 days.  87 degrees, the weekly 30-mile TNW route, brownie crits, daylight until 8:30PM, and summer all starts now.

Just don't forget your slushy roots.
Upward, and so forth.
